Mark Dean Sjoblom was called to his heavenly home on July 15, 2015, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born April 16, 1958, to Richard and Marlys (Gustafson) Sjoblom in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in St. Anthony Village, lived in Brooklyn Park for over 15 years and in 2002 moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Mark had a rich and diverse career including automobile sales, restaurant owner and his final, most fulfilling profession as a realtor with Weichert Realtors, Tower Properties in Brainerd, MN. Mark was a vibrant, witty, amazing gentleman with an unforgettable sense of humor. He enjoyed camping (especially on the North Shore), riding his Harley, landscaping, watching football with his dogs by his side and most of all, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Mark entered Heaven peacefully with his family by his side and now smiles down upon us as a once again healthy, happy man.
Mark is survived by his wife, Deborah; father, Richard Sjoblom; daughter, Janelle Mattson; grandsons, Alex and Peyton; stepchildren, Victoria Wiemann, Blake Wiemann and Lily Wiemann. Also survived by sisters, Gayle Anderson, Kathy (Dennis) Oberg; former wife and friend, Michelle Sjoblom; as well as many friends and family members. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Marlys (Gustafson) Sjoblom, and grandparents, Ethel and Henry Gustafson and John and Sophie Sjoblom.
We will celebrate Mark's life on two occasions: 1 PM on Tuesday, July 21 at Salem Covenant Church, 2655 Fifth Street NW, New Brighton, MN, and also on Thursday, July 30 at 11 AM, with visitation 1 hour prior at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 35960 County Road 66, Crosslake, MN.
