Mark L Norman, Jr, M.D., Age 84, passed away March 27, 2009 of complications after cardiac surgery in Naples, Florida. Preceded in death by his parents Mark, Sr. and Abigail, brother, William Norman DDS of St. Paul. Survived by wife of 56 years, Mary Liz (nee Zwicky), sons Mark (Polly) of Edina, Matthew (Stephanie) of Rye, NH, and Michael (Heidi) of Edina, grandchildren, Mark (Rose), Thomas (Megan), Hannah and Katherine. Great grand-daughter, Madeleine Rose. He was born in St. Paul on April 17, 1924 in St. Paul, MN, attended St. Thomas Academy (41). After serving in the Navy during WWII, Pacific Theatre, commanding LSM 158, as Lieutenant junior grade, Norman attended St. Thomas College and Marquette Medical school. He enjoyed a busy ophthalmology practice and always had an attentive ear for his patients. Loved spending summers at Whitefish Lake and for a winter escape Naples, Florida. He was an active volunteer in both places,giving time to both church and civic causes. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, April 4th at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church,Crosslake, MN. 56442, 218-692-3731. Visitation one hour prior to memorial service. Memorials preferred to St. Thomas Academy, ACA Camp Foley Scholarship Fund c/o Camp Foley (Pine River, MN) or charity of donors choice.
