Marilyn "Sue" Hannahs, 63, of Brainerd, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Private interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Sue was born November 8, 1948 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Kenneth Long and Dorothy Smith. In 1989, she was united in marriage to Darrell Hannahs. The couple worked as director and assistant director of Woodman of the World Summer Camp for children in Southern, IL before moving to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1990. Sue liked to travel, fish, and camp. She also enjoyed spending time on the computer and connecting with friends on Facebook. She cherished her time with her family and grandchildren.
She will be missed by her husband, Darrell; son, Allie Greenway; grandchildren, Kayla and Alex; step-children, Darrell (Patty) Hannahs and Kimberly (Mike) Adams; siblings, Johnie Smith, Rocky Smith, Annalliee Johnson, Judy Johnson, Betty Pouless, Karen Smith, and Kevin Smith; and half-brothers, Dennis Long and Kenneth Long, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents.
