Marion S. Holmes

Marion S. Holmes, age 90, formerly of Osseo and Garrison, MN, went to her Heavenly home surrounded by family on November 5, 2022. Funeral Services for Marion will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2022, at 1:00pm Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elk River, MN. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the beginning of the service.

Marion was born on July 4, 1932, to Sigvald and Marie (Thompson) Steen in Durand, WI, and was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Durand High School. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis, and met and married Melvin Holmes in 1953. Mel and Marion had five children and were married for 46 years. They established their home in Osseo, MN, and Marion enjoyed her career as a bookkeeper.

She loved times with family and playing different card games. Marion was a life-long sports fan, especially loving the Minnesota Twins baseball team and attending many games. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren watching their sporting activities.

Marion is preceded in death by her husband Melvin and her parents.

She is survived by her children Cheryll (Richard) Edinger, LuAn (Philip) Schutte, Mary (Joe) Bistodeau, James Holmes and Steve (Patty) Holmes; her grandchildren Scott (Ashley), Jamie (Mark), Julie (Gene), Aaron (Marie), Kiel (Alicia), Ann (Bryan) and Wendy; great grandchildren Landon, Ava, Everett, Jack, Emery, Leo, Nolan, Khloe, and Mo; her sister in-law Donna Moen; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
