Marion Braith, 95, of Motley, MN died Monday, July 2, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Father Gabriel Walz officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, with a prayer service at 7PM, Thursday, July 12th at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Marion was born May 14, 1923 in Bluffton, MN to John and Katherine (Walz) Hammes. She was raised and educated in Bluffton. Marion was united in marriage to Albert Braith on May 5, 1942 in Bluffton, MN. After their marriage, they moved to Verndale and eventually to Staples. Marion moved to Harmony House in Motley in 2014. She enjoyed gardening, and sewing handmade quilts. Marion was universally loved by everyone she met. She walked and talked her faith. Marion especially loved visiting her children in and out of state.

Marion is survived by her children, Maggie Persons (A.J. Lorie) of Friendswood, TX, Terry Braith of Staples, MN, Randy Braith of Gainsville, FL, Brenda (Jack) Carlson of Grand Rapids, MN, Jim (Angie) Braith of Ashland, VA, Lori Bell Dooley (Kevin Dooley) of Shoreview, MN, Vera (Mike) Sidders of Detroit Lakes, MN; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Vittetoe of Denver, CO, Ione Marchand of Twin Cities, MN; and brother, Joe Hammes of Wadena, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine Hammes; husband, Albert; infant son, Donald; and seven siblings. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
