Marilyn Haglund

April 3, 1932 — May 30, 2024

Crosslake

Marilyn Joyce Haglund, although in ill health, rallied to travel from Florida to her favorite place---her home in Crosslake, Minnesota.  Shortly after arriving, surrounded by friends and family, she passed away at age 92 on May 30, 2024.

Marilyn was born on April 3, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She was known as a kind-hearted, selfless, cheerful and generous person, always looking to see how she could help a loved one or friend.  Her passion was home décor and interior design. She loved to decorate and helped many people turn their house into a home. She delighted in watching many home improvement shows on HGTV to hone her skills. Her family and friends meant everything to her.

Marilyn celebrated 63 years of marriage to Gordon Haglund, often playing golf and tennis with their friends.   They enjoyed traveling and spent many years living between Sarasota, Florida and Crosslake, Minnesota.

Marilyn was always very active in her church, singing in the choir and the church worship team.  She loved entertaining family and friends with her wonderful meals.

She was predeceased by husband Gordon Haglund, son Ric Haglund, and brother Irv Knowlen.   Her parents were Irvin Knowlen and Marian (Custer) Knowlen.

Marilyn is survived by son Rob Haglund (wife Leslie), daughters Karen Haglund Kropp (husband Kevin), Julie Haglund Yates (husband Randy) and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sister Jackie Knowlen Gageby, brother Steve Knowlen and sister-in-law (and dear friend) Shirley Knowlen.

A celebration of life will be held at the Crosslake Log Church at 3PM on July 27, 2024. In lieu of flowers please take time out of your day to do something kind for someone else. Marilyn would love that.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
