Marilyn Covey

Marilyn Anna Covey, 86, of Nisswa, died at her home Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.

Marilyn was born July 5, 1929, in Farmington, MN, the daughter of Jens Christian and Borghild Amanda (Larson) Topp. Following her graduation from Farmington High School, Marilyn married George Allen Covey in 1959. The couple lived in Saudi Arabia for 30 years while George worked as an oil executive. They retired to Minnesota - living in the Pequot Lakes and Nisswa Areas. Marilyn was an avid hunter and fisherperson. She also liked to crochet, play cards and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching birds - especially orioles. Marilyn was a fan of football and golf; always cheering on her favorites - Minnesota Vikings and Tiger Woods.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Covey, of Katy, TX, son, Kris Covey, of Sand Springs, OK; sister-in-law, Gloria Topp, of Hanska; and numerous nieces, nephews, great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; sisters, Idella, Louella, Ida and Norma; and brothers, Willie, Les, Eldon, Richie, Morris, and Dennis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Essentia Health Heart and Vascular Center or Essentia Health Cancer Center.
