Marie Ryan

Marie Ryan of Baxter passed away peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2017, in the gentle hands of her family. Marie’s funeral service will be Tuesday, July 11, at 11 am, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends may visit during the hour prior to services. Interment will follow, at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.

Marie was born March 25, 1922 in Hawthorne, Wisconsin. At age 18, Marie moved to Duluth, where she worked at the Duluth Hotel. During her 20’s she moved to Minneapolis and worked at Charlie’s Restaurant, where she met the love of her life, Dale. They married May 10, 1949, and became part-owners of the Bass Lake Ballroom in Plymouth. Marie and Dale moved to Crosby Ironton and then, in her later years, Marie lived at the Good Samaritan Society Bethany Home in Brainerd. Marie’s favorite passion was family and we know she will be forever loved and missed.

Marie is survived by her son, William (Cindi) Ryan, of Nisswa, her daughter, Patricia (Earl) Larson, of Cold Spring; her cherished grandchildren, the loves of her life, Travis (Jennifer) Winegarner, Troy (Kim) Winegarner, Trisha (Jeremy) Power, Jacob Ryan, and Ashley (Mike) Seitzer. Her zest for life was kept alive through the loving attention of 11 great-grandchildren. The last of her generation, Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; a grandson, Jason Ryan; and 4 sisters, Austrid, Anna, Margaret, and Myrtle.
