Marie Flanagan

Marie Idella Flanagan, 86, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday November 16, 2023, surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 1, 2023, at 11:00am at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the start of the service at the Chapel. A lunch will be served following the service.

Marie was born on September 5, 1937, in Zap, North Dakota. After spending her childhood years growing up in the Minot area, she moved, along with her brothers and parents, Walter and Rachel Haff, to Merrifield, MN.

Marie graduated from Brainerd High School in 1955 and six years later she married her lifelong partner, Dennis Flanagan. Together, they raised five children. She also worked at several different jobs from banking to manufacturing. Marie also found time to become an accomplished sewer, quilter, crafter, and was an excellent cook and baker. Later in life, she enjoyed hanging out at the senior center with friends.

Marie is survived by daughters Scarlett Williams (Ulysses) and Leesha Langerman (Dennis), her sons Brad (Chris) and Brian, her brother Keith Haff, grandchildren Ewell, Kirk, Cody, Kerri, Cassie, Burrell, and Bryce, also eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis, her son Shawn, and brothers Paul Haff and Gene Gundersen.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
