Marie Braith

Marie K. Braith, age 81, of Staples, passed away Monday evening at the Lakewood Care Center. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery at Staples. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples. Marie Katherine Braith was born on February 7, 1926 to Theodore and Clara (Ament) Kaufman in Bluffton, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Peter Braith on February 21, 1944, in St. Johns Catholic Church in Bluffton, MN. She worked at Staples Hospital, Carter Ringer, National Food Store, and Braith Upholstering. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, playing cards, canning and gardening. Marie is survived by her children, Roger (Kim) of Staples, Janice (Joe) Jovonovich of Fargo, ND; four sisters, Dorothy Turchin, Marcella Kopveiler, Irene Edwards, Cecelia Dierks; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and six brothers and sisters.
