Marie Allee

Marie Allee, age 93, of Motley, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 15. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, at 11:00 AM at the Motley Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3-5, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.

Marie was born on July 30, 1918, to Arthur and Mahalia (Wollery) Collison, in Isle, MN. On January 1, 1937, she married Clarence Allee. Marie was a lifetime member of Motley. She was known for her generosity to others and all the many quilts that she has made.She enjoyed making quilts, working in her gardens, going to Mr Ed's for lunch, and babysitting some of the neighborhood children. Her door was always open to someone in need.

Marie is survived by her six children, Alice Erickson of Motley, Bonnie (James) Smythe of St. Paul, Arthur (Helen) Allee of Verndale, Arlene (Steven) Owen of Staples, Earl (Mary) Allee of St. Paul, and Rose (Joseph) Simkins of Staples; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 6 great, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, four children, Joyce Allee, Betty Allee, Janet Hillard, and infant son, Jerry; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
