Marian Engstrom

Marian Engstrom, 82, of Motley, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Services for Marian will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will take place at Motley Public Cemetery.

Marian was born December 30, 1928, the daughter of Vern and Pauline Jenkins. She was united in marriage on March 21, 1947, to Leo Engstrom. The couple lived and worked in Motley their entire lives. Marian was active within the Motley Public School System and enjoyed coaching Softball. She liked to watch baseball and cheer on the Minnesota Twins. Marian always kept an immaculate home and yard. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The last several years she was a Foster Grandparent at Motley Elementary.

She will be missed by her daughters, Margie (Steve) Solem, of Motley, Marie Macheel, of Motley, and Molly (Randy) Skeesick, of Motley; seven grandchildren, Stacy, Shannon, Joshua, Melissa, Jason, Trevor and Travis; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Faye (Jerry) Stevens, of Motley and Shirley (Jerry) Sharon, of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; brothers, LaVern and Gene Jenkins, and son-in-law Ian Macheel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
