Marian Ardelle Doerr, 88, of Breezy Point, passed peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Good Samaritan Village – Woodland. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, April 24 at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake with Pastor Terry Frovik officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Friday, April 25th at 1:15 PM (Please meet at Assembly Area #4 at 1 PM).
Marian was born August 19, 1925, in Dell Rapids, SD, the daughter of Steven and Agnes (Dybwad) Molskness. Marian was raised on a farm in Colman, SD. The family were members of Colman Lutheran Church where Marian was baptized and confirmed. She graduated from high school in 1943 and moved to Minneapolis and attended Minnesota School of Business while living with her Uncle Nels and Aunt Harriet. She began her career at Red Owl Grocery Store before working at Northwestern Bank and Western Union. She was married to Marvin Benjamin Doerr on March 7, 1950 and the couple made their home in St. Louis Park before moving to New Hope in 1958.
Marian enjoyed being outside; she liked golfing, gardening and having picnics. She also liked to bowl and work crossword puzzles. Marian made Breezy Point her home in 2007 where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She will be missed by her children, Karen (Marvin) Martin, of Breezy Point, Steven (Cindy) Doerr, of Topeka, KS, Cathy (Michael) Paul, of San Anselmo, CA, Mary Doerr, of Mpls, David (Lynn Schoenstedt) Doerr, of New Hope, and Bill (Lisa) Doerr, of Lake Shore and grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Jenny, Mandy, Brooke, Hannah, Skylar, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her daughter, Paula.
