Marguerite Stelzig

Marguerite "Peg" Stelzig, 98, of Crosslake, MN, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Golden Horizon's Assisted Living in Crosslake.

Peg is survived by daughter-in-law, Joyce; cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Scott (Mainyia); great-grandchildren, Sammy, Benjamin, and Michael; several nephews and nieces; and special friend, Twila Danzig, of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband; son; parents; sister; brother; and a grandchild.

Peg was born in Clearwater, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud State University where she met her husband, Roy. She was active in dramatics, college yearbook and newspaper staffs, and student council. She was a dedicated kindergarten teacher in the St. Paul School System from 25 years. After retirement, Peg and Roy spent their winters in Arizona and Texas and their summers at home on White Fish Lake.

She was a member of the Town Trotters Dance Club in Minneapolis. She enjoyed her family, a host of friends, golf, bridge, gardening, crafts, and birds. Having a contagious optimism and zest for life, Peg always lived in the present.

Services for Peg will be held in the spring at Crosslake Lutheran Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in St. Paul, MN. Memorials are preferred to Gift of Life Transplant House at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
