Margaret Ann Martin, age 92, of Brainerd died Friday, November 1, 2019 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. A memorial services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Rev. Loren Anderson – Bauer will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.
Margaret was born on September 29, 1927 in Aitkin to Charles and Anna (Schwab) Specht. She married John Martin on October 10, 1953 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Margaret was a member of First Lutheran Church and walked strongly in her faith; always praying for others. Margaret was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning crops from John’s vegetable garden, and good conversation. Margaret was stronger than she knew, had a great sense of humor and sometimes could be a little feisty. Above all else, she loved her family and extended family beyond words and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her children, Thomas (Nancy) Martin, Mary (Todd) Grater; grandchildren, Megan, Jared, Katelyn, Blaine; great grandchildren, Emily, Keira, Ellysha, Kailey, Isaiah, Ivan, and she greatly anticipated the birth of her seventh great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Jeffrey, sisters, Rose, Mary, Kathryn, Clara, and infant twin sisters; brothers, John, George, Carl, Bill, and Tony.
