Margaret Harmon, age 89, resident of Highland Senior Living, Little Falls, passed peacefully on Thursday March 13, 2014 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.
Services are March 22. 2014 at Lincoln Evangelical Free Church, Cushing, MN at 10:00am with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
Margaret was born to Harry and Mary Herrington in Newton, Iowa, Feb. 16, 1925. In 1946 she married Charles Harmon. They moved to a farm by Eagle Bend, MN in 1955 where they farmed for 10 yrs. Later moving to the Cushing area on Fish Trap Lake. They lived a full life with many adventures. They were managers at Camp Shamineau for a while after leaving the farm. Later Charles worked for Hubbard Milling at a territory manager. Margaret worked several years as a secretary. They traveled on many trips through Hubbard and after retiring continued to travel by spending 3 years in the Peace Corps in Jamaica and St. Lucia. Margaret was always busy with her flowers, doll collecting and most dear to her heart working with children. They were always involved in the church through Rose City Ev Free Church and Lincoln Ev Free Church. They later moved to Cherokee Village, Arkansas for 7 years but came back to Little Falls in later years.
She is survived by children Patrick (Diane) Harmon, Colorado Springs, CO, Kathleen (Roger) Enns, Randall, MN, Corrine (Rich) Rucks, Rogers, MN, Curtis Harmon, Rogers, MN, sisters Lavola Trout and Janice Varner, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband Charles, son Michael (who died a year ago on same day) and brother Jim Herrington.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
