Margaret Gillson

Margaret "Irene" Gillson, 93, of Pillager died on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager. A Memorial Service is planned for Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Pillager. Burial at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.

Irene was born on November 5, 1918 in Duluth, MN to Karl and Kristina (Skyman) Lindman. She was raised in Duluth and graduated from Duluth-Denfeld High School. She graduated in nursing training at Mounds-Midway School of Nursing in St. Paul. On August 10, 1944 she married Harold Gillson in Duluth, MN while Harold was in the Army. They lived in California during that time. They then moved to the Pillager area and farmed until retirement in 2002. Irene worked for Swanville, Little Falls, and Brainerd Hospitalsas an RN. She loved sewing, gardening, and flowers.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 68 years Harold; sons, Richard (Tamara) Gillson and Roger (Kathy) Gillson; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Rowan, Kirsten, Micale, Kennan, Elise, Toria, and Lauren; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Inez Lindman; and brother, Carl.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
