Margaret “Peggy” Anthony Pinkerton Feilzer, 86, of Crosslake, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.
Peg was born February 13, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Clarence S. and Dorcas (Mussey) Pinkerton. Following high school, Peggy graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. She used her education to sustain a career in Social Work; she was employed by Hennepin County for 15 years. She married James F. Feilzer on July 11, 1959 and the couple made their home in the Twin Cities metro area. Peggy was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Bloomington as well as being active in Crosslake Presbyterian Church. For 35 years Peg and Jim had a vacation home in Mazatlán, Mexico. Peggy enjoyed swimming, tennis and was a volunteer for many organizations.
She will be missed by her husband; nephew, Jim Benson, of Mpls; special friends, Verina Luthy, of St. Paul and Martine Jensen, of Mpls; and her Yorkshire terrier, Andy. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Dorcas, Thomas, Robert and Jane.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the donor’s choice.
