Margaret Ellen Bybee, age 86, formerly of Pillager, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at her son?s home near Deer River. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 20 at 11 a.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Reverend David Greaver officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service.
Margaret Ellen Bybee was born October 20, 1918 in Storm Lake, Iowa daughter of Silas and Nettie (Snyder) Madson. She moved with her family from Storm Lake to Southern Minnesota at an early age. On January 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Bybee. They moved north of Staples in 1944. Margaret taught rural schools in districts 4 and 6 for 23 years, then in Sebeka for 10 years. Following her retirement in 1980 they moved to Pillager. Margaret was a member of the Pillager Senior Citizens. She was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed crocheting, traveling and playing cards.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Jerry (Joan) Bybee, of Deer River, Larry (Mary) Bybee, of Pillager; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Madson, of Pottstown, PA. Her husband, Gilbert; parents; two brothers; one sister; and one grandson preceded her in death.
