Margaret Besemann

Margaret Ruth Besemann, 85, of Motley, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Harmony House. Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with Pastor Robin Collins officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather starting at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place in Swanville Cemetery.

Margaret was born May 13, 1929 in Nevis, MN, the daughter of Elmer and Carroll (Davis) Kempton. As a young child, Margaret's family lived in Alberta Lea before moving to the Sebeka area where she graduated high school. She continued her education at St. Cloud University. In 1949, she married Gordon Besemann. The couple lived in numerous areas before settling in Staples in 1994. In 2006, Margaret moved into Harmony House.

Margaret enjoyed children and spent many years teaching pre-school and Sunday school. She liked music and painting.

She will be missed by her children, Michael (Jeanne) Besemann, of Hibbing, Kristine (John) Rutz, of Owasso, OK, and Paula (Ron) Thorman-Stokes, of Staples; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and grandson, David.
