Madeline A. Davis, formerly of Pine River, passed away on February 11, 2010. Magdalena Anna was born April 23, 1913, to John Thomas and Martha Rosaline (Haubrich) Fesenmaier in Brown County, Minnesota, the oldest of four children. Madeline, as she came to be known, went to school in New Ulm, Minnesota, through both her elementary and high school years. She then attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. With graduation and a good friend, she traveled to California. In Bakersfield, California, she met and married Leonard H. "Red" Davis. Their marriage endured for sixty plus years. Madeline worked as a medical nurse for many years at Mercy Hospital and later at San Joaquin Hospital. She later worked a short time in a local nursing home in Bakersfield before retiring. Her hobbies were keeping politically informed, crocheting and reading. She was active in her faith throughout her life.

She is survived by her children: Richard (Sharee) of Coarse Gold, CA, Judith (Fred) Weis of Emily, MN, Karolyn (James) Harmon of Santa Maria, CA, Michael (Patricia), Patrick, Steven (Karen), John (Elaine), Edward (Shelly), Susan (James) Marchesini, Mary (Louie) Peebles, and Dan (Jana), all of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Lois Pugh of Bakersfield; Madeline and Red were also blessed with 33 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Red; brother, Walter; sister, Virginia Strate; and granddaughter, Holly Davis.
Madeline loved many individuals, but especially all of her children and their children. She will be missed by all who knew her.
