Mable MibbsL. Goble, 88, Pequot Lakes, died April 5, 2008 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 9, at 11 am, at Pleasant Hill Community Church in rural Pequot Lakes, with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Relatives will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, April 8, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials to the charity of donors choice are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Mable MibbsGoble was born on June 20, 1919 in South Dakota, the daughter of Manley and Dora Satchell. She moved to the Jenkins area with her family at an early age. Mable was 13 when her mother died and she and her siblings were placed in the Owatonna State School. At age 16 she was placed into the loving foster care of Ray and Amanda Mundt in southern MN. She had many stories about her experiences at the Owatonna State School. After graduation, Mable returned to the Jenkins area and worked in retail and domestic care. She was united in marriage to Andrew AndyGoble in Brainerd on January 22, 1947. They farmed in Home Brook Township, Cass County until they retired. After retirement they traveled and spent winters in Arizona, making many new friends. Mable enjoyed family, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, crocheting, and making quilts that family members cherish.
Mable is survived by two sons, Lennie (Marsha), of Pequot Lakes, and Lonny (Theresa), of Ft. Ripley; two daughters, Nancy Weitzel, of Pequot Lakes, and Betty (Norman) Renes, of Park Rapids; a son-in-law, Jim Brodman, of Isanti; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan RosieIreland, of Oregon, MaryLou (Gale) Gooddale, of Georgia, and Donna (Dave) Bollie of Fifty Lakes; a brother, Wayne Bill(Helen) Pickett, of Blaine; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; her parents and foster parents; one son, Larry; one daughter, Lorena Brodman; a son-in-law, Larry Weitzel; eight brothers; and three sisters.
