Mable Elizabeth Baker, age 91, formerly of Aitkin, died on May 10, 2015 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Baxter.
She was born on May 19, 1923, in Wealthwood to Brand and Henrika (VandemNoogard) Barneveld. She graduated from Wealthwood School. She was married to Calvin Baker on October 18, 1947.
Mable was a housewife most of her life, working for Fingerhut Corporation for eight years. She was a member of Glory Baptist Church in Aitkin and active in Al-Anon of Aitkin.
Mable enjoyed word puzzles, her backyard birds, especially hummingbirds, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed telling stories of the years she spent growing up on the north shore of Mille Lacs Lake and being outdoors.
Mable is survived by her husband of 68 years, Calvin; daughters, Alyce Love, of Red Wing and Cynthia (Charles) Gray, of Louisville, KY; sons, Brant (Denise) Baker, of Brainerd and Richard Baker, of Aitkin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Brant "Barney", Arthur, Bertha, Rica, and Alice "Beebe".
A memorial services will be held on June 13, at 11:00 AM, at the Glory Baptist Church in Aitkin with a visitation at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
