Lynn Claude Crackel, 77, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at his home. Services for Lynn will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 10 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Bob Twiton officiating. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a reception following the services in the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room.
Lynn was born March 15, 1933, in Highmore, S.D., the son of Elroy and Anna (Blaseg) Crackel. In 1966, he was united in marriage to Myrta Murray. The couple made their home in the Brainerd Lakes Area where Lynn worked for JC Penny. Lynn was a musician - playing both the guitar and the piano. He played in the area during the 1960s as a member of the Hi-Lites with his sister, Christine and brothers, Warren and LeRoy. They were the house band at Moonlight Bay in Crosslake for many years. Lynn also liked to hunt and fish.
Lynn will be missed by his wife, Myrta; his sister, Evelyn Olson Borstner, of Steward, MN; his brother, Warren (Jan) Crackel, of Wilmar; his brother-in-law, Earl Hutchinson, of Bemidji, MN; his sister-in-law, Mayme Crackel, of Monticello, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wilbur, Herbert, and LeRoy; and his sisters, Katherine Mantyla, Eleanor Synstad, and Christine Hutchinson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
