Lynne Beaver, 69, of Brainerd died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial services will be Wednesday, April 18, at 1 pm at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd, with Reverend Rory Swenson officiating. Friends may visit at the church during the hour prior to services. Interment with military honors will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Heartland Animal Rescue Team in Baxter.
Lynne Marie Jameson was born November 15, 1937 in McIntosh, SD, to Elmer and Catherine (Gabel) Jameson. She lived on a farm in Sioux County, ND until 1952 and then moved to Cogswell, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1956. She served in the WAC from 1956 1959, and was stationed in Alabama, Texas, Colorado, and Virginia. From 1960 1961 she worked as a cabin attendant for a charter airline, traveling throughout the USA, Europe, and Cuba. She began attending college in 1961 and met Larry Beaver. They were married August 4, 1962 in Ellendale, ND. They made their home in Souris, ND, where Lynne worked at a bank. In 1965 they moved to Ferndale, CA and Lynne began working as a medical clerk at a hospital. They returned to Minnesota and lived in Inver Grove Heights from 1966 1994. Lynn earned a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota in 1974 and then did substitute teaching in area elementary schools. In 1977 she began working as a medical clerk at the VA Medical Center, a job she held until retiring in 1991. She was the recipient of a liver transplant in 1991 and afterwards was an active volunteer for Life Source, the American Red Cross, the hospital, and the humane society. In 1994 she moved to Palisade and then to Aitkin. She moved to Brainerd in 1998 and continued to be an active volunteer. She also enjoyed traveling.
Lynne is survived by five sisters, Evelyn Larson, Phoenix, AZ, Violet Conners, Twin Falls, ID, Jeanette Larson, Twin Falls, ID, Wanda McGregor, Lincoln, AR, and Lela Utter, Stockton, MO; three brothers, Mervin (Cuma) Jameson, Branson, MO, James (Ruby) Jameson, McIntosh, SD, and David Jameson, Warren, MN; 8 nephews and 14 nieces; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Donald Beaver; her parents, Elmer and Catherine Jameson; two brothers, James and Orton Jameson; a niece, Gail Jameson; a nephew, Mervin Hedlin; a sister-in-law; and five brothers-in-law. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
