Lylah E. Vukelich, age 89, of Staples, passed away at her home on Friday, February 29th. Funeral services will be Friday, March 7 at 11:00 am at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Staples with Pastor Mike Picconatto officiating. The visitation will be Thursday evening form 5-7 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Lylah Ethel Vukelich was born to Chester and Mary Etta (Walsh or Welch) Randall on August 13, 1918 in Bertha, Minnesota. She attended school through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Joseph Vukelich, Sr. on January 8, 1936. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, gardening, baking, crocheting, and reading.
Lylah is survived by her children; 4 sons, Joseph, of Motley, William, Doug, and Dale all of Staples; 6 daughters, Judy Rollins of Kendalville, IN, Dixie Smith of Motley, Lilly Rychner, Monica Webster, Peggy Hirschey, and Ramona Lambert all of Staples; 1 sister, Gladys Christiansen, 1 brother Emerald Randall; 35 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren,; 12 great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Millie Randall, Mildred Plank; brothers-in-law Danny Ustipak, Milo Ustipak, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 2003; infant daughter, Evelyn; son Daniel; grandson Shayne; brothers, Art, Harold and Wilbur, and her parents.
