LuZetta Peterson

LuZetta K. Peterson, age 88, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Saturday, March 14. A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Fr. Scott Wittkop officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

LuZetta was born on March 28, 1920, in Callaway, MN to Louis and Elizabeth (Fairbanks) Martin. She met and married Donald Peterson in Hawley in July of 1941.

LuZetta is survived by her sons, Ronald (Mary) of Staples and Lynn Tomof Staples; daughters, Gerri (Ed) Bennett of St. Cloud, Sandy (Ken) Hassler of Northwood, ND, and Karen (Tom) Olson of Moose Lake. She has 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald in 1981, brothers, Morris, Isaac, Bernard Budge, William, Lloyd Gene, and Martin Cyke; and sisters, Irene Vizenor, Blanche Hanson, and Emma Morrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials are prefered to the Sacred Heart School.
