Lurline Newman

Lurline Newman, 90, of Brainerd, MN died on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Carefree Living in Brainerd, MN. Private Family Services.

Lurline was born on April 11, 1926 in Garrison, MN to Frank and Gladys (Ross) Benjamin. She graduated from Brainerd High School and married Eugene Knowlen. Eugene and Lurline were the parents to two daughters. Later in life Lurline married Ralph Newman and they were the parents of two daughters. She worked at McDonalds and Pine Square for several years. Lurline was a member of the Eagles Club for many years. She enjoyed bingo, cards, watching the Twins, and wrestling. Lurline also liked to needle point.

Lurline is survived by her daughters, Connie (Bob) McKinney, Linda Matheson, Nancy Stein, and Lynn Newman; fifteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; one sister; and three brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
