LuJean "Jean" Erickson, age 92, of rural Pine River, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Brookside Assisted Living, Pine River, MN. LuJean the youngest daughter of Ernest and Christina (Jorgensen) Petersen was born April 5, 1924 in Blind Lake Township, in rural Pine River, MN.
She attended school in Blind Lake and graduated from Backus High School in 1943. Jean married Vernon Erickson in Willmar, MN on December 28, 1950. Jean enjoyed her many animals; cows, chickens, cats and her faithful dog, Sam. She lived all her life in Blind Lake Township. Jean enjoyed going to flea markets, and garage sales, and visiting with friends. She was a member of the Blind Lake Tabernacle of rural Pine River. Jean committed her life to Christ at a young age, when she accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by family and many friends and neighbors.
Jean is survived by her nieces: Connie Duke (Philip Freseman) of Florida, Linda (David) Jackson of Florida; Cheryl (Dan) Anderson of Colorado; nephews: Dennis Robideaux of Minnesota, Jamie Duke of Minnesota, Bruce (Jackie) Petersen of Ohio, Keith (Sally) Petersen of Minnesota, Allan (Nancy) Petersen of MN; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; sisters, Rose Duke, Bernice Robideaux; and brother, Roy Petersen.
Thank you to the dedicated staff at Brookside Assisted Living for their loving care of Jean over the past 20 months.
Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, at the Backus WOW Church of the Nazarene, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 1:30 PM on Saturday, at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
