Luella was born December 26, 1922 in Seward County, NE, the daughter of Detrich and Frieda Klintworth. She was united in marriage to Elmer Schultz on October 12, 1944. They both worked together on their family farm until they moved to the Brainerd Lakes area in 1955 when they purchased Tip Top Resort. Luella and Elmer made many friends at Tip-Top where she enjoyed cooking and cleaning fish for the fish frysher friends and family had caught from the area lakes. She ran the resort from 1955 until her recent illness this year. Luella was known for her ability to recall off the top of her head any guest names and what cabin they stayed in, as well as the dates they stayed. Most of all, she enjoyed having her children and grandchildren around Tip-Top to help her run the resort and watch them grow. She and Elmer also owned and operated Schultz Construction and Plumbing. She was a true example of the statement, behind every good man was a good woman. She enjoyed having the ability to work with her husband and sons and was proud to be involved in a family operated business. Luella and Elmer both missed their Nebraska family farm, so she and Elmer participated in farming once again by raising beef cattle, planting corn, and gardening. Luella loved watching the cattle with Elmer, especially in the sprint when new calves were being born. She loved baking and working in the garden. She enjoyed watching how the corn was growing each year; and it was important to her to keep the farm working, even after Elmers death.
Luella was also known for being a hard-working woman and for her kindness, good heartedness, and for her quick wit. She will be deeply missed by all. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren.
Luella will be lovingly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Larry (Gail) Schultz, of Pequot Lakes, Ronnie (Janet) Schultz, of Pequot Lakes, Lonna Andolshek, of Crosslake, Bruce (Taryn Schultz, of Pequot Lakes; two sisters, Nora Schultz and Joann (Tom) Sieck, of Seward, NE; nine grandchildren, Aaron Schultz, of Pequot Lakes, Jennifer Schultz, of Pequot Lakes, Ryan (Christine) Schultz, of Pequot Lakes, Kerry (Jeff) Holubar, of Pequot Lakes, Lisa (Eli) Loven, of Pequot Lakes, Kimberly (Justin) Bolz-Anolshek, of Pequot Lakes, Albin (Anna) Andolshek, of Minneapolis, Bruce Schutlz, of Eden Prairie, and Tiffany (Nick) Porter, of Coleraine; and seven great-grandchildren, Jared, Lauren, Ryder, Kate, Leo, Gus, and Atmos.
