Lucille Florence "Lucy" Thomson died June 5, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Pine River at the age of 92. Lucy was born to Otto and Myrle Wannebo on August 14, 1920, in Black Brook, Wisconsin. She married George Thomson. They lived in Rochester and Minneapolis. They had one son, Ronald. Lucy worked as a nurse's aide in Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis for many years before she and George retired to Fox Lake, Fifty Lakes.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Kristin Thomson, of New York. Also surviving are her sisters, Vivian Satherlie Tweedy of Manhattan Beach, and Dona (Londale) Musolf of Fifty Lakes, and by brother Curtis (Dorothy) Wannebo of Manhattan Beach. Many nieces and nephews also survive Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, their son, Ron, and her brother, Guy Wannebo.
Lucy greatly appreciated the Pine River community. The family thanks her wonderful neighbors, the staff at Good Samaritan, the staff at the Pine River State Bank, Pine River Clinic, Pine River Pharmacy, Good Neighbor, Meals on Wheels, Pine River Ambulance and Fire Department First Responders, Jerry's Market, Gardiner's Hardware and the Pine River Bus Service for their friendship and assistance that they provided Lucy during her many years in Pine River.
Visitation will be at 1 PM, followed by funeral services at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 11, at Faith Lutheran Church in Swanburg with Pastor Glenn Leaf officiating. Burial will be in the Swanburg Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are provided by Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
