Lucille Agnes Marvin passed away in St. Augusta, Minnesota, on November 18, 2008. Lucy was born December 2, 1912, in Sanborn, Minnesota, and married John C. Marvin on May 11, 1940. Lucy and John lived in Minnesota, first in Excelsior and then in Willmar to raise their family of four children. After retirement, they refurbished and moved into the family cabin in northern Minnesota. During this period of time, Lucy and John became snowbirdsand spent their summer months at Cross Lake, Minnesota, and resided in Phoenix, Arizona, during the winter. Later, Lucy resided in Sierra Vista, Arizona for a few years before returning to Minnesota to settle in Sartell.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband, John, and siblings Alice Jacket, Alfred Luther, Florence Schmitz, Vester Luther, Ester Hensch, August Luther, Margaret Ducharme, and Ethel Grangaard. She is survived by her children, John R. Marvin of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Anne L. Slee of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Nancy A. Schirmers of Portland, Oregon, and Peter L. Marvin of Tillamook, Oregon; grandchildren, Rebecca J. Hill of Peoria, Arizona, Sarah E. Slee of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Heather L. Slee of Waite Park, Minnesota; great-grandchild Maegen A. Hill of Peoria, Arizona; and sister, Ruth Marfell of Woodbury, Minnesota.
A memorial celebration of Lucys life for friends and famiy is scheduled for Monday, December 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Lucys name to Quiet Oaks Hospice House, 5537 Galaxy Road, St. Augusta, Minnesota 56301.
