Lucille M. Macho, age 92, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital on Sunday, February 1 2009. A Funeral Mass is planned for Friday, February 6 at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Fr. Scott Wittkop officiating. The wake will be on Thursday from 4-6 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples, with a Rosary at 4:00 and Parish Prayers at 4:30. Interment will be at St. Isadora's Cemetery at a later date.
Lucille was born in Moran Township on March 22, 1916, to Michael and Regina (Stevens) Biermaier. On October 17, 1933 she married Henry Macho in Browerville. They farmed in Philbrook until 1948 when they moved to Staples. Lucille ran the Cozy Café for a number of years and worked at National Tea and Ernie's until retirement. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, baking, and making baby blankets and afghans.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Bernice (John) Petrich and Dolores (Michael) Politi; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; grandson, Doug Pavlacky; sisters, Mildred DuPlanty and Nita Bartylla; two half sisters; and one half brother.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
