Louise Stavish, 85, of Randall passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Fr. Joe Herzing and Fr. Tim Wenzel on Friday, November 9 at 11 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. Visitation will also be at St. James, on Thursday, November 8 from 4-7 p.m. and during the hour before Mass on Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Louise Wippler Stavish was born on August 8, 1933 in Darling Township, Morrison County to George and Evelyn (Olson) Wippler. She attended School District 35 in Darling Township and continued for one year at St. Francis in Little Falls. She was united in marriage with Frank Stavish on October 30, 1951 at St. James Catholic Church and then lived in Darling Township, where they farmed and raised nine children. Louise stayed on the farm after Frank passed away in 1986 and then moved to in Randall in 1990.
Louise enjoyed playing cards with her family and cribbage with friends. She also kept busy with quilting, gardening, embroidery work, canning and trips to the casino and playing Bingo. She worked on the St. James centennial cookbook, the District 35 reunion book, and made her own family cookbook. Her hobbies included making books of her church history, scrapbooking clippings of family and friends and creating a scrapbook of military families. She was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and St. Harold Mission. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary 9073 in Randall. Louise also worked for a short time at the Randall Café, served as the Clerk for Darling Township from 1987-1990 and sold pull tabs for the Lion’s Club.
Louise is survived by her children: David (Jane) of Cushing, Theresa (Bob) Hoffman of Pierz, Donald (Judy) of Randall, Martin (Linda) of Randall, Jerome (Kim) of Randall, and Malinda (Richard) Heinz of Cushing; daughter-in-law, Chris Stavish; 23 grandchildren and 38 grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Klinker of Little Falls; a brother, Thomas (Helen) Wippler of Little Falls; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Wippler of Randall. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Wippler; her husband, Frank “Fritz” in 1986; children, John, Charles and George; siblings: Verna, Jim, John, Frank, Helen, Betty, Louis, Pete, Albert and Dorothy; a daughter-in-law, Darci Stavish; and a granddaughter, Kasey Stavish. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
