Louetta Hoppe

November 19, 1932 — June 3, 2004

Louetta ?Pat? Hoppe, age 71, of Pillager, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial services will be Tuesday, June 8, 11 AM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, with Reverend Mark Kleckner officiating. Friends may call at the church for the hour prior to services. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veteran?s Cemetery in Camp Ripley. Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church or the Pillager Lion?s Club.
Louetta Esther Evelyn Birr was born November 19, 1932, at home in Albany Township, to Emil and Alma (Jopp) Birr. She grew up and graduated high school in Albany. She was united in marriage to Cyril B. Hoppe June 4, 1960, in Albany. The couple moved to Pillager in 1963. Louetta worked as head cook at the Pillager School for 24 years. She was a member of the Pillager Lions, the Sunshine Club, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Huskies Booster Club. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Pillager and later of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. In addition to being a member of the Lutheran Women?s Church League, she served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and volunteered on the Evangelism Board. She enjoyed preparing wonderful, plentiful meals for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles.

Pat is survived by Cyril, her husband of 44 years; children Lois Hoppe, of Ironton, and Richard (Lizzie) Hoppe, of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren Jamie and Jake Hoppe, of Tucson; sisters Wyanda Obermiller, of Albany, Leona Curran, of Plymouth, Anne Huberty, of Alexandria, Helen Cigelske, of Parker?s Prairie, and twin sister Louella Hinnenkamp, of Brooklyn Park; and brother Aaron Birr, of Albany. Her parents and a sister, Aurelia Fillbach, preceded her in death.
