Lou Hartnett

October 3, 1933 — August 13, 2018

Martha Louise Hartnett, known as Lou, age 84, died on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Belgrade Nursing Home, Belgrade, MN. The Funeral Service for Lou will be Friday, August 17th at 2 PM at the Pleasant Hill Church, rural Pequot Lakes, MN, with Pastor Mike Kistner officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery following the service.

Lou was born on October 3, 1933 in Peoria, IL, daughter of John Leo and Mary Elizabeth (O’Neil) Wassmuth. She grew up and was educated there, graduating from Woodriff High School in 1951. She worked as a telephone operator for two years. She was united in marriage with Joe Hartnett on February 11, 1955 in Peoria. They moved to Rochester, MN and they moved from Rochester to Willmar in 1963, where she had lived since. Recently she entered the care facility in Belgrade.

Lou enjoyed a ministry of witnessing through handing out tracts, her bible reading and bible studies, she was a big fan of the Reverend Billy Graham and enjoyed watching TBN. She especially loved her kids and grandkids. She liked flowers and anything pink

Survivors include two sons and three daughters: David Hartnett of Annandale, Jackie (Bob) Maine of Staples, Tessa (Al) Gilbertson of Baltic, SD, Jill (Peter) Sajevic of Shoreview and Paul (Jenny) Hartnett of St. Louis Park; ten grandchildren: Katie, Jill, Sarah, Sam, Mackenzie (Jake), Nicholas, Caroline, Aidan, Keira and Quinn. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Elizabeth; seven siblings: Betty, Bob, Pat, Margie, MaryJo, Jack and Dick; and a daughter: Janie Resner.
