Lorraine D. Stresemann, age 76, passed away Sunday evening at her home in Brainerd. Private family services will be Wednesday, July 16, 2008, with interment at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
Lorraine Dorothy Stresemann was born on November 22, 1931, in Gaylord, MN, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ida (Winter) Brinkmann. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Glencoe High School. On October 30, 1952, she was united in marriage to Myron Stresemann. To this union 2 daughters, Jody and Bonnie, were born. She held various secretarial positions outside of the home. She ultimately became a typist/proofreader for various court reporters, amazing many with her ability to type 120wpm. They moved to the Brainerd area in 1975, where she continued to type for John Davis. In prior years she enjoyed a good game of cribbage or a polka with her husband. Lorraine and Myron were able to share over 54 years of marriage before Myron's death in January 2007. Lorraine was an Honorary Life Member of American Legion Post #255 Auxiliary, Life Member of VFW Post #1647 Auxiliary, and a Charter Member of the BN Jack and Jills Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron; sister, Alice; and brother, Edwin. Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Jody Kane of Brainerd, Bonnie (Charles) Bahr of Pillager; and grandchildren, Kellie Kane, Tori and Kacie Bahr.
