Lorraine Brack Ronnei passed on August 6, 2018 at the age of ninety at her home in Baxter, Minnesota. She was born May 22, 1928 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Ivar and Emelie (Berg) Brack. She graduated from Durand, Wisconsin High School.
Lorraine was united in marriage with Stanley Eugene Ronnei on February 10, 1951 at Rock Creek Lutheran in Rock Falls, Wisconsin. Stan and Lorraine lived in Fort Lee, Virginia, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and Rock Falls, Wisconsin before moving to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1964. They were married for 62 years, and their marriage was blessed with four children: Marilyn, Mark, James, and Julie. Lorraine was employed at Burns Manor Nursing Home and 3M. She and Stan were charter members of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
She enjoyed reading, traveling with Stan to visit their children, and spending time with her friends. She especially loved baking, keeping the cookie jar full of chocolate chip cookies for their grandchildren. Lorraine relished her volunteer work with the residents of Burns Manor, making quilts at Christ the King, and serving lunch to high school students. Lorraine was also a proud member of the Sons of Norway, and insisted that her grandchildren know how to make lefse. In recent years she enjoyed participating in chair yoga and watching the birds in the pond across the street from her apartment.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Stan in 2013, her brother Eugene, and her sister-in-law Shirley. After Stan’s passing, Lorraine moved to Baxter, Minnesota to be closer to her sons.
