Loren D. Herrlich, 73, of Brainerd, died November 22, 2013 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Benson officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services. Private interment with Military Honors will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Loren loved music and the family would prefer memorials to Zion Lutheran Church for the enhancement of the sound system.
Loren was born December 10, 1939, in Havelock Township, the son of Otto and Zana (Kurtzbein) Herrlich. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served his country for six years. In 1965, he was united in marriage to Naomi Charlet. Loren worked in the healthcare industry as a medical lab technician for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Brainerd Post 255 and the VFW, Brainerd Post 1647. He enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf, as well as playing cards and the piano. Loren also liked to sing Karaoke. Loren cherished his time with his family - he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his wife, Naomi; children, Randy (Cindy), of Baxter, Nancy (Matthew) Peterson, of Nisswa, and Debra, of Brainerd; six grandchildren; and his sisters, Lorna Kuno and Ellen Pedersen. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leon.
