Lonnie Kay Long passed away with her beloved husband at her side on August 4, 2024, at the age of 61.
Lonnie was born on September 10, 1962, in Bloomington, Minnesota, to Elaine and Gregory Thielen.
If you asked Lonnie what her greatest accomplishment was, she would tell you that it is her family. She was very proud of her marriage with Joseph and they shared 30 years together. She taught her kids to love with every inch of their being and she adored her 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Lonnie had a very special relationship with each and every one of them. Lonnie was always willing to lend a helping hand and would open her home to anyone in need. She always had a warm place to sleep, something to eat, and the warmest of smiles for everyone.
Lonnie is survived by her husband, Joseph Long; son, Benjamin Nelson; daughters, Genevieve (Daniel) Dey, Elaine (Edward) Mahana, and Tori (Kyle) Savage; brothers, Jeff (Dennette) Thielen and Scott (Lynn) Thielen; grandchildren, Hailey, Chance, Blake, Amarah, Oliver, Anya, Luca, and soon-to-be-born Theodore; great-granddaughter, Willow; aunt, MaryAnn (Sharon) Gleboff; and many other family and friends.
Lonnie is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Lonnie will be deeply missed.
Goodbye My Friend
By: Lonnie Long
Beyond the dark clouds
I see in my mind
My love for you
Makes the sun again shine.
You know what they say
About parting and sorrow
I love you forever
Through all the tomorrows.
