Lois Mick

Lois J. Mick, age 80, of Staples, passed away at Lakewood Health System Hospital on Wednesday, February 23. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, at 11:00 AM at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in the spring.

Lois was born on February 12, 1931, in Randolph, Nebraska, to William and Emma Long. She grew up in Magnet, NE. On March 22, 1950, she married Robert J. Mick in Hartington, NE, and they had three children. They moved to Minnesota in the Mid 50's to ranch, north of Motley. They raised cattle until retiring in the 80's. Lois moved to The Lakewood Pines, in Staples, in 2005, and then to the Care Center, in 2006. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, crafts, gardening, and fishing.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Ramona; her parents; siblings, Eleanor Peters, William Long, and Phyllis Stoecker. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Debbie) Mick of Staples and Charles (Joan) Mick of Ham Lake; grandson, Adam Mick of Staples; and siblings, Delores (Warren) Nelson, LeaNore (Clinton) Peterson, and James (Valerie) Long.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
