Lois Harrington

Lois Marie (Pedersen) Harrington passed away on March 5, 2015, at Senior Class Care in Nisswa, with her family at her side. Lois was born June 23, 1926, in Streator, IL, to Erwin and Olive Pedersen. She spent her early years on a small farm in southern Minnesota and moved to the Crosslake area when she was a sophomore in high school.


Lois married Richard Harrington in 1947 and they enjoyed 57 years together in rural Pequot Lakes. Lois was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to caring for and serving others. She always had the coffee and goodies ready for anyone who stopped in. She enjoyed working on the farm raising her cows, tending her flower gardens, baking, cooking, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Erwin and Olive; and brothers, Lyle and Donald.

She is survived by her children: Ronald (Kathy), Connie Swift, Randy (Carol), Barbara May (Greg); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gorman, Laverne Somerville; nieces, nephews; and many friends.

Memorial service will be 11 AM on Wednesday, March 11, at Pleasant Hill Community Church, rural Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
