Lois Asche

Lois Jean (Landin) Asche was the first of 8 children born to Roy and Merva (Rippel) Landin on October 28, 1945 in Mountain Lake, MN. After graduating from Lester Prairie High School, she met and then married Curtis Asche on June 21, 1968. They settled in Hutchinson, MN, where Lois worked 25 years at Hutchinson Technology and welcomed her two sons. Lois enjoyed watching her sons, Steven and Ryan, play sports. She spent many hours in the hockey rink, at the football field and baseball diamond cheering them on. She enjoyed family activities, snowmobiling and fishing.

Curt and Lois moved to Pequot Lakes in 2001. Lois worked in the bakery at Walmart in Baxter for 9 years before retiring. She loved to visit with family and friends, having coffee with neighbors, watching wildlife from her front deck, and listening to the wind blow through the trees.

Lois passed away with grace, at home on August 5, 2022.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Earnest and Millie Landin and Aaron and Ingher Rippel; sisters, Dawn and Val; sister-in-law, Brenda; and nephew, Josh. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Asche of Pequot Lakes; children: Steven (Krista) Asche of Rice and Ryan (Tracy) Asche of Hutchinson; grandchildren: Kyle (Hannah) Asche, Collin Asche, Kaylea Asche, Nathan Asche and Owen Asche; great grandchildren: Grayson, Griffin and baby Asche; brothers, Kim, Kent and Kurt Landin; sisters, Twylla Baumann and Holly Kelzer; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois wished to be cremated and be privately buried with her family at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie, MN.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the Good Samaritan Society Hospice Team and the many kind souls who provided loving care for Lois and compassionate support for all of us.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Tuesday, August 16, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. A second gathering will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Thursday, August 18, at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, MN.
