Lois Anderson

October 10, 1942 — January 30, 2016

Lois Jean (Arnold) Anderson, 73, of Pine River, passed away, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born to Robert N. and Mildred (Lucht) Arnold in Minneapolis, MN on October 10, 1942.

Lois graduated from Osseo High School and attended a year at Olivet Nazarene College and then attended the University Of Minnesota School of Nursing , graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After this training, while working at North Memorial Hospital, she saw the need for one of her critically ill patients to be cared for in a foster home. This set her on a path to a special calling in life and she spent the next 51 years ministering as a foster Mom both, short term and some long term, to over 36+ children. Most of these children had some level of physical, emotional, or mental disability. She, with her husband, cared for in their home, many years for elderly parents and an aunt.

Lois loved music and played the piano or organ for whatever church she was in, even up to the last month of her life. Her cheerful and giving spirit, which was an inspiration to so many, will long be remembered. Most of all, Lois loved Jesus and Lois loved people.

Lois is survived by her husband of 53 years, James (Jim) C. Anderson; older brother, Raymond (Ray) E. Arnold; children, Michael T. Anderson, Wendy Lee Anderson, and Kevin James Anderson; grandson, Kody Anderson; and great grandson Everett James Anderson; foster sons, John Peter Spartz and Sean Michael Broutie; as well as aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Lois was preceded in death by her father, Robert N. Arnold; mother, Mildred (Lucht) Arnold; and younger brother, John Arnold.
