Lloyd Knapp

Lloyd L. Knapp, 68, of Brainerd, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center. A Celebration of Lloyd's Life will be held at 6:00PM, Thursday, June 13 at Lum Park, Pavilion 2 in Brainerd. A Celebration of Life will also be held on Sunday, July 14 at 1:00 PM at the St. Cloud Church of Christ.

Lloyd was born February 16, 1945, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Lawrence R. and Ida I. (Reeves) Knapp. Following high school, Lloyd enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Pedersen on May 27, 1967. Lloyd was machine operator for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and retired at age 55 after 26 ½ years. They also owned and operated L and P Railroad Tie Service. In 2007, Lloyd and Pat moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area. He was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Cloud. He was a former Scout Master and an Eagle Scout. Lloyd was also a District Council Member of the BSA. He enjoyed fishing, boating and taking scenic drives.

He will be missed by his wife, Pat; brothers, Merlyn E. Knapp, of Celina, TX and Dennis C. Knapp, of Cedar Falls, IA; and god-child, Amber Harden.

A Memorial Fund has been established.
