Linda Nygren

Linda Jean Fornshell Nygren, 64, of Pillager, MN died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager, MN. Funeral Services for Linda will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00AM at First Lutheran Church in Pillager, MN with Pastor Hector Merced officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN from 5:00-7:00PM and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, MN.

Linda was born on January 11, 1950 in Brainerd, MN to Leonard and Leona (Hannahs) Fornshell. She graduated from Pillager High School where she was active in sports and activities. Linda worked in manufacturing at Atek in Brainerd, MN for over 30 years, before deciding it was time to work closer to home. She then was employed at Magnum Research in Pillager, MN for two years. Linda was actively involved in coaching sports for her granddaughters and for community education programs. Linda was also herself an avid softball player for many years. She loved watching her grandchildren play in all of their sporting events. Linda loved playing cards and she taught her family many new card games. She truly loved to play the game of Texas Holdem. She loved going fishing on the river or just taking a pontoon ride. "Grandma Linda" as she was so lovingly called brought a smile to all of the daycare kids.

Linda will be sadly missed by her daughter, Leigh (Shannon) Peterson; granddaughters, Chelsey Jean-Marie, Logan Leigh, and Vanessa Marie; grandson, Tucker John all of Pillager, MN; brother, Duane (Pat) Fornshell of Brainerd, MN; sister, Sandy (Ben) Mudgett of Pillager, MN; brother-in-law, Don Farber of Pillager, MN; Leigh's father, John Nygren of Pillager, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Troy; parents, Leonard and Leona; brother, Jerry Fornshell; sisters, Darlene Farber and Bonnie Bell; and nephew, Dustin Fornshell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
