Linda Brooks

Linda L. Brooks, 67, of Breezy Point, MN died on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Essentia Health/St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. Services for Linda will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00AM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Linda was born on December 3, 1948 in Little Falls, MN to Cyril and Hazel (Schmaltz) Holmes. She attended Onamia and Brainerd High Schools. She received her LPN degree while attending Anoka and St. Cloud Vocational Technical Colleges. Linda was a surgical tech at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, before moving to Brainerd and working as a LPN at Bethany Good Samarian Village and Brainerd State Hospital. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, going for walks, boating, and bird watching. She also loved to travel.

Linda is survived by her children, Cinnamon Barry of Breezy Point, MN, and Michael Abrego of Breezy Point, MN; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlyn, Alyssa, Randy, Brandon, Amanda, Nathan, and Dillon; sisters, Sharon Horst of Zimmerman, MN, Donna Fitch of Brainerd, MN, and Bonita Austin of Aitkin, MN; and brothers, Norman Holmes of Loretto, MN, and Gary Holmes of Ogilvie, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Hazel; son, Roger Holmes; and brothers, Dale and Roy Holmes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
