Linda Brandon

Linda Pernell (Gravdahl) Brandon passed away on April 29, 2024 at Hills Crossing Senior Living in Nisswa, MN. She was born Dec. 17, 1944 to Lorraine and Arvid Gravdahl. Linda graduated in 1962 from Pequot Lakes High School and from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN in 1966, where she met and married James Brandon. Linda and Jim were married for 32 years and had three children: Craig (DeeDee Ford) of Preston ID, Karla (Craig) Axelson of Brainerd MN, and Kristi Treinen of Chaska, MN.

Linda was a teacher for the Pequot Lakes Schools for 33 years where she especially enjoyed teaching science to her students in fifth grade. A highlight in her career was the year she taught summer school in China.

Linda loved making memories with her grandchildren by reading to and with them, playing board games, and having bonfires on the beach.

Linda was an avid NPR listener, loved singing in the choir at Lutheran Church of the Cross (Nisswa), playing golf, riding bikes, and traveling with her friend, Jon Wenberg, who was there for her even after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and continued to be a wonderful companion during difficult times in Linda’s life. Her children appreciate his friendship, help and guidance during these times.

Linda was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross for 45 years, with many of those years spent singing in the choir.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marilyn Amundson, brother, James Gravdahl, sister in-law, Jan Gravdahl (David), brothers in law, Will Frost (Mary), Bill Ingvoldstad (Sharon) and Jerry Wallin (Judy), And also nephew, Dan Gravdahl.

Linda leaves behind her children, grandchildren: Kory, MaKayla, Miranda, Kari, Cameron, Shawn, Alyssa, Brandon, Emma, Sydney, Samantha, Joey and Aubrey and eleven great grandchildren and her siblings, David, Sharon, Mary, Judith and Timothy. Sisters-in-law, Tammy Bargy and Shelli Gravdahl, and brothers-in-law, Lyle Amundson and Rick Haffey (Judy), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 12 pm Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, MN with a celebration of life to follow at 1 pm.
