Lilly Kathleen Hatleberg Keprios, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away September 1, 2015. Lilly was born in the Village of Winger, MN, on April 1, 1925. She is survived by her sister, Helen Berg; her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Lindenberg; her son, John (Jan) Keprios; grandchildren: Rebecca Lindenberg, Emily (Anthony) Zuccaro, Kyle Keprios, Jason Keprios and Angela Keprios; great granddaughter, Akira Keprios; as well as many relatives and friends.
Lilly is preceded in death by her son, Steven Keprios; her husband, John "Jack" Keprios (married March 20, 1948); father, Henry Hatleberg; mother, Ingeborg Hatleberg; her brothers, Rueben Hatleberg, Harold Hatleberg; and her sister, Grace Tellefsen.
Lilly worked at Honeywell, Bridgeman's, and Maid of Scandinavia. She volunteered at schools for the deaf and participated in fundraising for deaf education. Her passion and talent was cooking and baking, and she is renowned for perfecting lefse, buns, caramel rolls and countless specialty cookies. She was a gifted artisan, not only creating treasures but teaching others in ceramics, porcelain, needlepoint, cross stitch and quilting. She gave most of her creations as gifts to those she loved and admired. Lilly was devoted to her family. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend, she will be forever missed but always loved and remembered.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015,1:00pm, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 30985 Front St., Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 (218-568-4670). There will be a burial service immediately following the memorial and then a lunch for fellowship.
