Lilly Huff

Lilly Huff, age 97, of Garrison and formerly of Isle, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2006, surrounded by loving family at the Mille Lacs Hospital in Onamia. Memorial Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday Oct. 4, at the Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison with Pastor Chris Hill officiating. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 PM at the Church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery at Mound, MN.
Lilly was born on September 7, 1909, in Funk, NE, the daughter of Constantine and Axelena (Swanson) Wimmergren. She grew up in several areas of the Midwest including Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota. She attended nurses training in Chicago and worked as a practical nurse before meeting her future husband, Glenn Huff. On Nov. 16, 1935, the couple was married in Maple Plain, MN. To this union 2 sons, Richard and Douglas were born. They were able to share 56 years of marriage together before Glenn died in September of 1991. Among the things she enjoyed were fishing, knitting, baking, quilting, and she loved animals, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Constantine and Axelena; her husband, Glenn; and her siblings, Axel, Fred, Eden, Minnie, and Vera. Lilly is mourned in passing by her children, Richard (Juanita) Huff of Garrison and Douglas (Vickie Sue) Huff of St. Peter; grandchildren, Patrick (Melissa) Huff, Toni Jo (Steve) Premo, Erik (Susie) Huff, and Alexandra Huff; great grandchildren, Michael Premo, Matthew Premo, Nick Premo, Kayla Hasse, Tim Tierney, Erika Jo Huff, Karlee Tierney, and T.J. Tierney; and great great grandchild Ian Premo; and sisters-in-law, Genevieve Wimmergren and Cora Wimmergren.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
